The first inoculant of the KLEPS® (abbr. from Ukrainian "cells" and "EPS") series -"KLEPS®-Cereals" - was developed to demonstrate the potential of this novel technology, where bacterial partners are two bacteria anticipated to provide the plant with biological nitrogen, phytohormones, and can induce systemic plant resistance to diseases. The inoculant is recommended for pre-treatment of seeds and sprouts before sowing as well as for a spraying shoots. The inoculant has been tested in three-year official field trials in three geographical zones of Ukraine, and these trials demonstrated an improvement of yield and health of corn, buckwheat, winter rye and wheat, oat, barley grown on different soils as compared to control without fertilization.
The inoculant "KLEPS®-C" strengthens the seedling vigor, enhances root length and branching, provides earlier blossoming and ripeness of the crop, increases yield up to 10-17%, increases protein content, reduces a level of plant diseases, restores microbial associations in the marginal soil. Next inoculants of this series – "KLEPS®-Pea" and "KLEPS®- Potato" – are under tests since spring of 2002. "KLEPS®-C" is the first national inoculant. It was registered
in Ukraine in 2001 (Certificate 00541 A, N 847 in State Register of 05.06.2001).
An official producer and distributor of the inoculant is R&D Center
"Energia". |
